Key Responsibilities

The Lead Civil/Structural Engineer will be responsible for all site, foundation, and structural design aspects supporting hyperscale and AI-factory data center environments. This role requires a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with deep expertise in civil site development, foundation systems, structural steel design, and seismic engineering.

This individual will provide stamped engineering drawing sets, ensure compliance with all applicable regional and national building codes, and collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to support the structural integrity of critical power and cooling infrastructure.

  • Develop, review, and stamp site civil plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
  • Design and stamp structural drawings for steel, concrete, and equipment support systems.
  • Ensure equipment foundations, structural supports, and seismic bracing meet all applicable building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform structural load analysis for mission-critical equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, generators, switchgear, and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), municipalities, and permitting agencies to support approvals and compliance.
  • Collaborate with architects on building envelope and structural integration requirements.
  • Mentor junior civil and structural engineers and provide technical review and guidance on design deliverables.
  • Support cross-functional coordination with mechanical, electrical, and project engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with structural stamping authority.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design tools, including STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including IBC, ACI, AISC, and seismic design requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multi-state Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or an active NCEES Record.
  • Experience serving as Engineer of Record for industrial, mission-critical, or data center facilities.
  • Familiarity with modular construction methodologies, including skid-mounted or prefabricated structural systems.
  • Experience working directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), municipalities, and third-party plan reviewers.
  • Strong understanding of soil–structure interaction principles and foundation design optimization.
