Key Responsibilities

Ground-up and complete System-level design, including:

 

You will be responsible for a comprehensive system-level DC Power Systems design encompassing electro-mechanical, AC input distribution, DC busbar structures, control systems testing, schematic review/validation, and cabinet enclosure design with manufacturing considerations. Working in multiple industry standards, including NEC, UL, and Telcordia, worldwide safety and telecom standards. Engage directly with customers to define applications and requirements, facilitating design discussions, and managing deliverables with off-shore design team.  Collaborating with the engineering team on North American Telecom Product designs, prototyping, first article inspection, field installations, and customer documentation, while also ensuring that project schedules are met. 

 

Ensuring Product functionality to customer standards

Responsible for overall systems design with emphasis on electrical design and software controls

DC power configuration, including sizing power systems with rectifiers, distribution breakers, and battery backup to meet the runtime requirement

Contribute to product roadmap planning

Cabinet-level design, including sizing cooling system to handle Telecom equipment load, and the indoor power rack design with battery backup

Establish yourself as a subject matter expert for Delta Telecom products

Functional testing of control systems and alarms

Review and approve part specifications

Minimum Qualifications

AAS degree minimum, BSEE preferred

2-5 years’ experience in the Power Distribution-related field

Knowledge of industry standards such as UL, NEC, and Telcordia

AC Power fundamentals (including design of AC Distribution centers, single and multi-phase systems, 120/240/480 VAC)

Basic understanding of SNMP traps, walk, OID’s

Strong technical writing skills to make complex electrical designs into easy-to-read and understand documents

Can operate oscilloscopes, DMM’s, power meters, and current clamps

Well organized and a self-starter

Must have experience with basic hand tools for making electrical cables for power and communication
