You will be responsible for comprehensive system-level DC Power Systems design encompassing electro-mechanical, AC input distribution, DC busbar structures, control systems testing, schematic review/validation, and cabinet enclosure design with manufacturing considerations. Working in multiple industry standards including NEC, UL, and Telcordia worldwide safety and telecom standards. Engage directly with customers to define applications and requirements, facilitating design discussions, and managing deliverables with off-shore design team.  Collaborating with engineering team on North American Telecom Product designs, prototyping, first article inspection, field installations, and customer documentation, while also project schedules are met.   

• Ground-up and complete System-level design including:

  • Ensuring Product functionality to customer standards
  • Responsible for overall systems design with emphasis on electrical design and software controls
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as UL, NEC, and Telcordia
  • AC Power fundamentals (including design of AC Distribution centers, single and multi-phase systems, 120/240/480 VAC)
  • DC power configuration including sizing power systems with rectifiers, distribution breakers, and battery backup to meet runtime requirements
  • Functional testing of control systems and alarms
  • Review and approve part specifications
  • Basic understanding of SNMP traps, walk, OID’s
  • Cabinet-level design, including sizing cooling system to handle Telecom equipment load
  •  Indoor power rack design with battery backup
  • Establish yourself as a subject matter expert for Delta Telecom products
  • Strong technical writing skills to make complex electrical design into easy to read and understand documents
  • Contribute to product roadmap planning
  • Well organized and a self-starter
  • Must have experience with basic hand tools for making electrical cables for power and communication
  • Can operate oscilloscopes, DMM’s, power meters, and current clamps
  • AAS degree minimum, BSEE preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Power Distribution related field
