Key Responsibilities

The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for implementing, managing, and improving workplace safety programs across regional facilities. This role ensures consistent execution of safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness.

The position serves as the internal owner of the safety program and Safety Plus Edge platform, coordinating with Workplace and Facilities, HR, and a third-party safety provider to ensure effective program execution. HR retains responsibility for confidential employee matters (incident records, workers’ compensation, OSHA logs), while this role focuses on implementation, training, and compliance.

 

Safety Program Implementation

  • Implement Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) across all sites
  • Standardize safety procedures, policies, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement of regional safety programs

Safety System Administration (Safety Plus Edge)

  • Administer and manage Safety Plus Edge platform
  • Track training, compliance tasks, and safety records
  • Upload and manage LMS training content
  • Ensure completion of assigned safety training across sites

Vendor & Program Management

  • Serve as primary liaison with Safety Plus (third-party provider)
  • Coordinate compliance calendar, audits, toolbox talks, and JSA programs
  • Manage vendor deliverables and biannual safety performance reviews

Training & Awareness

  • Coordinate safety training (CPR/First Aid, fire safety, evacuation drills, active shooter, etc.)
  • Promote safety awareness and employee engagement

Compliance & Inspections

  • Conduct site safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Track corrective actions and compliance activities
  • Ensure alignment with OSHA and company standards

Emergency Preparedness

  • Plan and execute emergency drills
  • Ensure site readiness and trained response personnel

Safety Committee Coordination

  • Lead safety committee meetings and track action items
  • Facilitate collaboration across Facilities, HR, Security, and Operations

Key Skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, EHS or related field
  • 3+ years in workplace safety, EHS, or similar role
  • Familiarity with safety management systems or compliance platforms
