The Data Center Solutions & Architecture (DCSA) team develops next-generation systems for high-density AI racks, AI factory pods (1–2.5 MW), containerized data-center modules, HVDC distribution, advanced cooling systems, and integrated power solutions. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will take ownership of subsystem design, modeling, validation, and engineering documentation for Delta’s solution portfolio.
You will collaborate with architects, product managers, R&D centers in Taiwan, and global manufacturing sites to translate customer requirements into engineered, manufacturable, and cost-optimized solutions.
Engineering & Architecture
Develop power and cooling subsystem designs for containerized data centers, AI pods, and modular AI-factory cell architectures.
Perform calculations and modeling for:
Power systems (UPS, BESS, LV distribution, HVDC)
Thermal systems (liquid cooling loops, CDUs, CRAHs/CRACs, heat transfer)
Generate and maintain engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
Conduct feasibility studies, tradeoff analysis, and component selection.
Technical Execution
Support prototype development, engineering lab testing, instrumentation setup, and validation results.
Participate in DFMEA, reliability assessments, and design review cycles.
Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, BICSI, TIA-942, and applicable Delta engineering standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with product management, manufacturing, industrialization, and supply chain to ensure smooth NPI transitions.
Provide technical inputs for customer engagements, RFP/RFI responses, and solution packs.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Identify improvements in power/thermal architecture, manufacturability, performance, or cost.
Contribute to Delta’s roadmap for AI-factory power and cooling technologies.
Master’s degree (MS) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or similar field.
3+ years of engineering experience (MS requirement meets Senior Engineer criteria)
Experience in at least one of the following:
Power distribution systems (UPS, PDU, switchgear, LV/HVDC)
Data center cooling (liquid cooling, CDUs, chillers, CRAH/CRAC)
Rack-level engineering for high-density compute
Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) or simulation tools (MATLAB, Ansys, ETAP, 6SigmaDCX).
Strong analytical and written communication skills.
Project, internship, or research experience in data center, AI infrastructure, or energy systems.
Experience with CFD, thermal analysis, AC/DC power modeling, or high-density rack benchmarking.
Hands-on lab or prototype development experience.
Exposure to global engineering collaboration across functional or regional teams.
