Welder

Job Experience:

Required:

• Minimum 6 months MIG welding experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.

Preferred:

• Experience with robotic welding operation
• Overhead and/or jib crane operation
• Experience reading and interpreting weld maps
• Experience with OSHA regulations

Exceptional:

   Experience training others in welding or other fabrication skills

• Experience with CNC, press break, or blanking fabrication · Experience with powder coating systems

Technical/ Professional skills:

• Experience welding with GMAW (mig) on mild or low alloy steel
• Experience with fit up and assembly of welded components
• Knowledge of welding equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings such as fabrication drawings
• Ability to understand tolerances and fabricate parts within allowance

General skills (language, IT, etc.):

• Ability to read and write in English.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
• OR the ability to effectively communicate verbally in English and in writing in Spanish.
• Ability to use and understand basic measuring devices.
• Ability to use a tablet and/or computer.

Personal skills (traits, attributes):

• Ability to assess their own work and self-correct.
• Ability to take ownership of one’s errors and receive corrections.
• Ability to balance quality workmanship with good time management.
• Ability to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification.
• Self-reliant and able to operate independently, but not afraid to ask for help.

Other Job Requirements (physical, etc.):

• Ability to maneuver body to weld in flat, vertical and overhead positions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Able to move, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, balance, stoop, and reach on a regular basis.

• Ability to use/wear appropriate personal safety equipment such as welding helmet, safety glasses, earplugs, hardhat, respirator, welding gloves, and welding jacket.
